    CROWN RELOCATIONS MATCHES STAFF FUNDS FOR CANCER SUPPORT

    LONDON, Aug. 23, 2010—Crown Relocations, a worldwide leader of global mobility, domestic and international transportation of household goods, and departure and destination services, has presented its 2009/2010 "charity of the year," Macmillan Cancer Support, with a cheque for £24,511.96 (approximately US$38,000). Staff from across Crown's UK and Ireland offices have been doing their part for charity, for the past 12 months, raising more than £12,000 (approximately 18,000) for the organization.

    This total was matched by the company after teams and individuals from Crown Relocations, UK & Ireland, took part in various gruelling activities to raise funds for the charity, which aims to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. Fundraising events included a Mount Snowdon climb and the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, which involved a team walking 24.5 miles via the summits of the three highest mountains in Yorkshire.

    Staff members also embarked on a 699 mile "Tour de Crown"---a static cycle challenge equivalent to the distance from Crown Aberdeen to Crown London, via the other offices---as well as some less energetic fundraising activities such as cake sales, a car boot sale and a helicopter ride raffle.

    Andrew Buckle, moving services manager for Crown Relocations in London, who has been a keen fundraiser, said: "The Crown UK & Ireland team have really pushed the boat out over the past year to fund-raise for Macmillan Cancer Support and we have thoroughly enjoyed raising money to support such a worthy cause. A number of our charity activities have been tough, but we are looking forward to even bigger challenges this year."

    Crown Relocations' UK staff are now focusing their fundraising efforts on their chosen 2010/2011 charity of the year, called When You Wish Upon a Star. This charity specialises in making dreams come true for children who have life-threatening illnesses.
