"Julie Joy Saypoff's Sculpture Collection," New York to Medina Del Campo, Spain
Client: Julie Joy Saypoff
Event: Julie Joy Saypoff's Sculpture Collection
Place: New York to Medina Del Campo, Spain
Julie Joy Saypoff is an abstract sculptor from New Jersey in the United States. Ms. Saypoff’s works are abstract true to her belief that the beholder should be able to focus on the inner voice of the pieces. Her sculptures speak visually of feeling, rather than facade, and she believes that the energy of emotion, though invisible, can be seen through gesture and through the use of positive and negative space.
Ms. Saypoff’s work, consisting of six large copper sculptures, was accepted for permanent exhibition at Las Salinas Arte Contemporaneo in Medina del Campo, Spain. After much research, she turned to the Crown New York team to manage the transport. The sculptures were carefully packed in 2 x 40' HC (high cube) containers. Each sculpture weighs approximately 250 -300 pounds and is about nine feet tall.

The shipment which took about four weeks door-to-door transit time required special packing. Andy Andreadis, operations manager, and the warehouse staff secured each piece individually with a series of straps and plywood braces within the container.
"Everything arrived safe and sound and the sculptures are now permanently in their new home at the museum. I was there, on July 14, 2009, when the doors to the containers were opened and everything was in exactly the same condition as when they left. Thanks for everything and I look forward to shipping many more sculptures with Crown in the future!" said Artist, Julie Joy Saypoff.
Joe Forti, general manager of Crown New York added, “Great effort by Bob for managing this special project, Dena Walsh, customer service manager, for her help in coordinating the move and Andy Andreadis and his team for their stellar packing skills. Great job.”
Bob Leotti, director of business development, Crown New York added, “The fine arts shipment from New York to Valencia, Spain went extremely well. The items, as you can see from the pictures, arrived without incident and the artist Julie Saypoff is very pleased. In fact, she intends to use our services in the future. It was shipped via sea from New York to Valencia and then by land to Medina del Campo. Go Crown NY Fine Arts!”
