"ART HK 09" in Hong Kong
Client: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
Event: ART HK 09
Place: Hong Kong
Again this year, Crown Fine Arts was entrusted with the duties of official logistics partner for ART HK 09: Hong Kong's International Art Fair. The fair, held Wednesday, May 13, to Sunday, May 17, attracted 28,000 visitors to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. More than 100 of the world's leading modern and contemporary art galleries exhibited artwork from approximately 25 countries and Jim Thompson, chairman of Crown, was kind enough to exhibit part of his private collection--presenting artworks from Asia and Europe.

For the event, Crown Fine Arts carefully handled about 250m3 of artwork. The additional challenge this year was the handling of large, heavy and delicate artworks, reaching up to 1,500kgs in weight and 280cm in height, each requiring detailed and individually tailored planning.

Magnus Renfrew, fair director of ART HK 09, said; "Crown once again provided excellent service to ART HK and to ART HK exhibitors."

"We always catch the attention of the exhibitors whenever our crew is handling those over-sized pieces. Not only because we are the ones who can do it, but the ones who can do it well," said Tommy Chan, director of Crown Fine Arts, Hong Kong.

Crown was privileged to showcase promising artists with creative and individual artwork in its sponsorship of "Crossing the Persian Gulf" an exhibit curated by Charles Merewether, former director of the Sydney Biennale.
