John Nurminen Prima Receives the Authorized Economic Operator Certificate
Crown Fine Arts, a division of Crown Worldwide Group, serves large and small museums, major art galleries, auction houses, artists and private collectors providing art packing, customized crating, art shipping and transport, hanging services and exhibition coordination recently announced that John Nurminen Prima (JNP), Amsterdam, is the first Dutch Fine Art Logistic company to receive the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certificate.
The AEO certification has been introduced within the European Union to achieve a certain level of standardization in customs procedures and security in transport. It will show that a company can operate on a certain level in the areas of: complying with customs regulations, keeping a correct administration and have financial responsibility and security. Local customs authorities will perform periodical audits to ensure high quality standards are still being met.This accreditation will facilitate for JNP the customs clearance of high value items on behalf of Crown Fine Arts clients.
The goal of the certification is to have a hundred percent control on the import and export of goods to and from the European Union. Some of the advantages of having the AEO status include:
- Less physical customs checks
- Less waiting time in the case of customs checks
- Customs clearance can be done effectively using less information
- Possibility to have customs checks take place at a different location
- Decrease of the customs bond
