Crown Fine Art installs Salvador Dalí Sculptures SculpturesMarch 6, 2012
Crown Fine Art, a division of Crown Worldwide Group, serves large and small museums, major art galleries, auction houses, artists and private collectors providing art packing, customized crating, art shipping and transport, hanging services and exhibition coordination successfully managed, in collaboration with the Opera Gallery, the logistics of a Middle Eastern exhibition of bronze elephant sculptures created by artist, Salvador Dalí.
The exhibit was first presented at the Financial Centre Gallery in Bahrain last spring. Following this successful event, the exhibit was moved to the United Arab Emirates and displayed at the Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment destination, located in the heart of Downtown Dubai.
The Dalí collection consisted of two monumental sculptures, Space Elephant and Triumphant Elephant , six museum sculptures, as well as various table and jewelry pieces. Crown Fine Art of Dubai was privileged to be entrusted with such an important and sensitive project that required technical expertise and experience in the arena.
Crown was responsible for the whole process that included receiving import clearance in Bahrain and Dubai, full installation of the sculptures and subsequent return of all the works of art to Switzerland. The dedicated Crown team consisted of ten crew members and two technical project managers. They worked tirelessly through the course of a day and into the following evening for each installation. Each sculpture piece was lowered into position with the help of cranes, fork-lifts and many strong hands. All efforts ensured a flawless installation and de-installation of the bronze sculptures in a time sensitive manner.
This job is a tribute to the team's technical prowess and representative of their diversity within an evolving fine arts market in the Middle East.
