Our London team awards local pupils for excellent artworkJune 26, 2015
Crown Fine Art UK are very proud to have completed an art project working in conjunction with the Harris Primary Academy Peckham Park school in London.
Our team went to the school in May and spent an afternoon teaching the year two pupils about packing and transporting art around the world.
The children practiced packing, worked in groups to create art work on canvas’s and were taken on a fun voyage to look around Crown vehicles.
Through sharing their passion for art, our team inspired the pupils to draw their own interpretation of ”moving art around the world” as part of a competition. The efforts were extremely impressive!
The most creative pieces were narrowed down, resulting in 10 winners who were awarded with certificates and vouchers at a special celebratory assembly. In addition, the school’s art department was presented with a camera to help with its future artistic endeavours.
Sandrine Caël, Head of the school’s art department, comments: “It has been a fascinating insight for the children, learning about how art is transported internationally and it is evident that we have some talented young artists in our school.”
David Gosling, Technical Project Manager, says: “We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the school, giving back to the local community and hopefully inspiring the pupils to understand that art is there for all. We look forward to extending the program to other schools".
The school children were overjoyed to be a part of the project. Winner Leena, said: “I was so excited to be a part of the project and couldn’t believe it when I found out I won. The best part was drawing the painting and looking at the van because we got to see everything”.
