Our projects - Raphael. The Sunshine of the ArtsOctober 14, 2015
Raphael. The Sunshine of the Arts is now being displayed at La Venaria Reale in Turin, Italy. The exhibition hinges on a number of masterpieces by Raphael that illustrate his prodigious artistic career, presenting the people he met and the places he lived. Documenting his earlier years as an artist is a selection of works by the masters who mostly influenced him, namely his father Giovanni Santi, il Perugino, il Pinturicchio and Luca Signorelli.
The exhibition intends to approach Raphael's genius also from an unusual and unexpected side: his creative commitment towards the "applied arts" that transposed his cartoons and drawings and etchings from his works onto various media. In the 16th and 17th century these were the main instruments to disseminate in Italy and in Europe the figurative inventions of the famous artist from Urbino: tapestry, maiolicas, coins, rock crystal, plaques, enamels, glass, armory, engravings.
As part of the set up for this exhibition, the Crown Fine Art packed 120 artworks from various lenders and transported them to the venue in 85 customized crates.
The exhibition will run through January 24, 2016.
