June 13, 2016

The European Fine Art Foundation, commonly known as TEFAF, is launching two art fairs in New York. Renowned for its annual Dutch fair of art, antiques and design, TEFAF New York will bring collectors and world-leading art dealers together in a prominent location – touted to be a source wealthy collectors.

New York’s dynamic cultural and economic strength will provide an ideal location for TEFAF, outside of its home in Maastricht, Netherlands. TEFAF New York will premiere in October 2016 and will be followed by a second event in May 2017. Michael Plummer, Principal of Artvest – an independent art advisory organization, comments: “The TEFAF fairs will fulfil what we and many others feel is an unprecedented opportunity in the American art market given New York’s stature as the global capital of the art world. These two fairs will add a dimension to the art world in New York that has been much anticipated by dealers, museum curators and collectors alike."

The audience of art fairs is getting more and more international and art fairs are becoming more important than ever for collectors. Cindy Zalm, General Manager of Fine Art – Netherlands, adds: “It’s a wonderful step for the established art fair to expand into the US. TEFAF is known for its high quality throughout the world. It’s a great opportunity to expand the audience as there is such a demand for events like TEFAF.”
