As part of 2016 Abu Dhabi Festival, Crown Fine Art had the pleasure of working with the Abu Dhabi Music And Art Foundation (ADMAF) on the installation of the exhibition ‘Portrait of A Nation’ for the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi Festival, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation.
Running from the 11 April until 10 May 2016, ‘Portrait of A Nation’ also marked ADMAF’s 20th anniversary. Among the 50 Emirati visual artists whose work was featured in the exhibition, 20 were commissioned to create their own unique interpretations of the UAE.
Crown Fine Art were involved from the planning stages of the exhibit, by contacting artists to collect their pieces in our specialist vehicles, right through to the installing of artworks. Our climate controlled warehouse even became a temporary photo studio; accommodating several photoshoots of the artworks. The photography was published in the exhibition’s programme and souvenir publication. During the installing process, Crown Fine Art Dubai travelled to the neighbouring Emirate of Abu Dhabi to provide specialist assistance in the layout of the gallery space, which is located in the breathtaking Emirates Palace hotel.
In total ‘Portrait of A Nation’ features seven gallery spaces representing different perspectives of the UAE such as geography, architecture, religion and heritage. For further details of ADMAF, the Abu Dhabi Festival and the ‘Portrait of A Nation’, please link here
It was a pleasure to collaborate with ADMAF and we look forward to our next joint venture.
