This exhibition, for the Italian Renaissance painter, Cima da Conegliano was organised by the Reunion des Musees Nationaux.
It comprised 34 paintings from five countries (USA, Portugal, Italy, and France) with a total of sixteen couriers accompanying works on their various journeys to Paris – a combination of air and road freight were used.
The most important of the loans came from Italy. Artworks were located in prestigious museums or well known churches in Venice, Parma, Florence, Modena and Milan. We had to follow the lenders’ requirements for packing, handling, escort and local agents.
Considering the large dimensions of several of the paintings, as many as eight art handlers had to work for five days to unpack and install the artworks in the museum. In addition to which we were required to coordinate a precise process in advance to guarantee the complete security of the artworks.
