A substantial logistical operation was launched at the start of 2015 to coordinate the “Obedience/Gehorsam” exhibition in Berlin. The exhibition displays loans from a dozen museums across Europe, Asia and North America including unique artworks, ancient objects and rare books as part of a fifteen room installation.

Besides making all the shipping arrangements, Crown Fine Art Germany provided detailed packing consultancy and crating services, including Artsorb specific relative humidity capacity cassettes for the Hessische Landes- und Hochschulbibliothek in Darmstadt. The team also used a non-combustible insulation panel for heat and fire protection. The special material, which is found mainly in machinery and engineering, is resistant to high temperatures and abrasion. It is also free of smoke and toxic gases under thermal load, dust free and hygienically safe. It has an excellent thermal insulation coefficient of 0.03 W/mK at 200 °C (average). Applicable to 800 °C without shrinking. Fire behavior incombustible acc. to DIN 4102 – class A1.

The attention to detail, high specification of materials and the care for which Crown Fine Art provided, also led to us being approved to work with renowned institutions such as the British Library in London and the Kupferstichkabinett, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz.
