It is one thing to move a masterpiece into a museum; it is quite another to weave it into the fabric of a home.

At Crown Fine Art Singapore, we believe that the soul of an artwork is often defined by its environment. When we were appointed as the official fine art logistics partner for the international debut of Zhai Sheng Ji (“Chronicles of Living in a House”), we knew this wasn’t just another installation. It was a rigorous test of precision, adaptability, and the very technical expertise we have been cultivating in the Singapore market over the past years.

Redefining the Canvas: From White Cubes to Heritage Homes

The “Zhai Sheng Ji” project, founded by the visionary Chinese artist and curator Pang Hailong, is a radical departure from traditional “white cube” galleries. By moving art into private living spaces, specifically the historic B&W House on 7, Grange Road, the exhibition sought to dissolve the boundaries between “art” and “life.”

For our team at Crown Fine Art Singapore, this meant trading the predictable, climate-controlled corridors of a gallery for the architectural nuances of a heritage Singaporean home. Our mission was clear: to provide the white-glove technical support necessary to transform a residence into a world-class exhibition space without losing the intimacy of the domestic setting.

Technical Precision Behind the Scenes

The installation, which commenced in October 2025, required more than just muscle; it required a deep understanding of spatial dynamics and material sensitivity. As seen in our latest behind-the-scenes footage, our technicians navigated the unique challenges of the 7 Grange Road site with meticulous care:

  • Non-Traditional Mounting: Installing large-scale canvases and multi-panel works on the walls of a heritage home requires a delicate touch. We utilised specialised hardware and levelling techniques to ensure the integrity of both the artwork and the historical structure.
  • Logistics of the “Everyday”: The exhibition featured diverse media, including the precision placement of bicycles and sculptural elements that had to interact naturally with the home’s architecture.
  • The Art of Measurement: In a living space, every inch matters. Our team utilised laser-levelling and manual calibration to ensure that multi-panel installations like the intricate grids featured in Pang Hailong’s curated selection, were aligned to the millimetre.

Building Trust through Proven Performance

While Crown Fine Art is a relatively fresh face in Singapore’s dedicated art logistics scene, projects like “Zhai Sheng Ji” demonstrate that our capabilities are anything but “new.”

We understand that for collectors, galleries, and artists, the primary currency is trust. When we handled the de-installation of this project in January 2026, we did so with the same rigour used during the setup. Our goal is to ensure that the transition of art, from crate to wall and back again, is entirely seamless, allowing the curator’s vision to take centre stage.

A New Standard for Singapore

Crown Fine Art Singapore is not just a moving company; we are an extension of the artistic process. By supporting experimental projects that push the boundaries of how art is consumed, we are proving that our technical team is equipped for the most complex assignments in the region.

Whether it’s a high-security gallery installation or a bespoke residential project in a colonial bungalow, our commitment remains the same: uncompromising precision and a deep respect for the object.

As we continue to grow our footprint in Singapore, we invite the local art community to see us as more than a service provider. We are your partners in preservation, your experts in installation, and the silent guardians of your most precious works.
