We are pleased to announce the appointment of Katherina Chau, who will lead Crown Fine Art’s activity in Hong Kong.
Katherina has an extreme passion for art – particularly Chinese art – and has vast experience working in the art market. Prior to her appointment, Katherina worked in the Pearl Lam Gallery, as well as within exhibitions and with art agencies. Her experiences have taught her the significance of logistics in the art market, and she looks to bring this knowledge and expertise to facilitate activity.
Within her role at Crown Fine Art, Katherina will lead in providing art handling solutions for clients moving their goods around in and out of Hong Kong.
She said:
“I am thrilled to join Crown Fine Art in Hong Kong. I have been incredibly impressed with the level of attention, care, and entrepreneurship here at Crown..”
“Hong Kong provides many great opportunities for the global art market – we have the benefit of tax-free transactions and trade, meaning we find ourselves as a central trading point. Art collectors benefit from trading here, and it shows in the rising number of private art collectors coming to us for our support and expertise.”
She added: “We’re also seeing a rise in the interest of contemporary art. Where a lot of exhibitions operate at a global level – for example, the Art Basel exhibitions – we find the Asian market gets increasing access to a global reach of galleries and collectors. We’ve made a point to start attending more exhibitions and events and showcase our services, and I look forward to more opportunities like this.”
The Hong Kong branch of Crown Fine Art has recently started working closely with the hotel industry, notably collaborating with the Peninsula Hong Kong which recently revived its “Art in Resonance” program.
