Performing PAC: These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins at PAC Milan

From 3 July to 13 September 2026, the Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea (PAC) in Milan hosts Performing PAC: These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins, the latest edition of the exhibition project dedicated to exploring collage, assemblage and installation as artistic practices capable of generating new meanings through the layering of materials, images and languages.

Curated by Silvia Bignami, Iolanda Ratti and Diego Sileo, the exhibition builds upon the reconstruction of a historic PAC exhibition devoted to Kurt Schwitters in 2001. In this new edition, Schwitters’ creative approach enters into dialogue with the works of seven contemporary artists: Jacopo Benassi, John Bock, Gabriella Ciancimino, Roberto Cuoghi, Thomas Hirschhorn, Lucia Marcucci and Mika Rottenberg, who have been invited to engage with and reinterpret his legacy and influence.

For this ambitious project, Crown Fine Art managed the specialist logistics, transportation and installation of the artworks, helping to transform the curatorial vision into a fully realised exhibition experience.

Delivering an exhibition of this complexity requires highly specialised expertise and meticulous coordination at every stage. From the design of custom-made packing solutions to the planning and execution of transportation, each artwork was handled according to rigorous safety standards, ensuring maximum protection throughout its journey.

Once the artworks arrived at PAC, they were entrusted to Crown Fine Art’s team of technicians and art handlers, who worked closely with the curators and museum staff to bring the exhibition to life. Complex object movements, installations, precise positioning and technical support required constant attention and an in-depth understanding of contemporary exhibition practices.

Behind every successful exhibition lies an intensive collaborative effort that often remains unseen by visitors. It is within this behind-the-scenes work that expertise, experience and exceptional attention to detail become essential in showcasing artworks at their best while fully respecting the curatorial vision.

Crown Fine Art is proud to have contributed to this important exhibition project and extends its thanks to PAC, the curators, artists and all the professionals involved for their collaboration in making Performing PAC. These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins possible.
