Road freight
Crown Fine Art uses its own trucks to transport art works to destinations by road. Our vehicles equipped with air suspension, climate control, remote track-and-trace and alarm systems built-in as standard. They also feature temperature and relative humidity controls, which can be maintained during the most extreme weather conditions.
As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, we are increasingly selecting vehicles for their environmental performance, as well as safety.
Air freight
For air transportation, our supervisors will oversee palletisation and loading, accompanying artworks at every stage in the transfer from truck, through customs, to aircraft loading and back.
Where artworks are carried by hand, we assist your couriers throughout the transportation stage, including through customs and onto the aircraft, ensuring that artworks are always handled safely.
Sea freight
For monumental works and large-scale collections best transported by ship, we use specifically designed temperature-controlled containers – ensuring artwork is safe and secure.
Dedicated shipments
Crown Fine Art’s dedicated shipments apply additional security and safety to fine art transportation. We give our clients greater control of the timing and ensure fewer handling of shipments. Even at this level of service it is possible, especially within Crown’s network, to economise with more efficient use of capacity.
Packing and crating
Our in-house specialists produce crates for any artwork and any journey.
We produce crates to exacts specifications, recognising that there are many competing crate designs. You can be confident in the security and safety of all our packing materials.
Our crates are made from fumigated wood and provide complete protective cushioning from shock or vibration. Interiors are lined to prevent friction damage and sealed to provide protection against a range of climate changes.
Customs and legal procedures
For international shipments, Crown Fine Art offers a complete service, taking care of any complications posed by customs procedures, for both temporary import and export shipments. We will arrange all of the necessary paperwork and supervise all inspections.
